What is Polymer Clay?

Polymer clay is, in short, a manmade clay.

It is a modeling compound which can be molded and formed like ceramic clay, it has the flexibility and resiliency of modern plastics.
It can be sanded, drilled, painted, stamped, powdered, tinted, and varnished. (with compatible products)
Generally speaking it is not air dried, but is fired at a relatively low temperature.

While it can be painted, it is produced in a multitude of colors. Most of the products seen on these pages are created simply by blending the colors within the clay itself.

Polymer clay is NOT:
Ceramic, stoneware or porcelain.
It is not plasticine or modeling clay.
It is not Play-dough or salt clay.

Because of it's fairly low firing temperature, polymer clay is NOT suitable for food use, or for burning or  smoking materials.
